Candy Wrapper

This is definitely my new favorite die for the Big Shot!! (You can see from the post on Sunday Sept. 26, that I used this die for the Halloween treat.) This time we used the Candy Wrapper die for 2 versions of a Candy Wrapper for Christmas.

One version stands up, with only 1 end "twisted".  The other version has "twists" at both ends.  An option is to punch a 3/4" circle in one panel of the wrapper, add a piece of window sheet, and voila - you have a tiny window to allow you to peek inside!

Here are the directions:
All the pieces

Cut out a piece of Old Olive card stock with the Candy Wrapper die and your Big Shot. Fold all of the score lines for easier assembly later. Don't neglect the diagonal scores on the ends!  On Whisper White card stock, stamp the ornament from "Delightful Decorations" (pg. 35) using the Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Pad.

Punch ornament out with Ornament XL punch. Set aside.

Apply Sticky Strip to the 1/4" end of the Candy Wrapper.

Remove backing from Sticky Strip, and assemble the box.  It lines up remarkably well!

Work the ends of the Candy Wrapper until they are extremely pliable.  Once you've done this, you should be able to gently twist the ends (about a 1/4 turn) and flare the little fins out, by prying them open, gently, with your finger tips.
View from the end looks like this.

Decorate how you wish.  On my example, there is a 6" x 1" strip of Jolly Holiday DSP that is wrapped around the Candy Wrapper like a band.  Then the punched ornament is attached with a Dimensional. Finally, there is a little gold cording (non Stampin' Up!) knotted around the top of the ornament.
Deliciously Cute!
Enjoy!!
