Stamp Club March 2016

This month we made a couple of projects just in time for Easter.

This adorable "Bag in a Box" is made with the Envelope Punch Board.  Step by step instructions are listed below along with photos. (you can also go to  "Pootles"  and watch the fun tutorial by Sam).
By the way, it is just the right size to hold a single Cadbury Egg or the foil-wrapped hollow chocolate eggs sold at Costco this time of year.As with many projects, this isn't ONLY for Easter.  Tailor it to your colors, theme, occasion!
Start with a 6" x 6" piece of DSP (mine is from "Pretty Petals" DSP stack.
Step1:  On the Envelope Punch Board, line up the left edge of the paper at 1 3/8" mark.  Score and Punch.

Step 2: Slide paper over to the 4" mark and score & punch.

You will no longer use these or any "measurements" for the remaining steps.

Step 3: Turn the paper 1/4 turn.  You are only going to LINE UP the score marks you already made, with the little "pointer" or "Score Guide" on the Board.  You will do this 2 times on each of the remaining 3 sides.  Line up the score line with the Score Guide and score & punch.

Slide paper to the left until the "score guide" is lined up with the second score line that you made in  Step 1.  Score & punch.

Step 4:  continue in this manner until you have  scored and punched twice (lining up the Score Guide with previous score lines) on each of the remaining 3 sides.  Your paper should now look like this:

Step 5.  Place all corners into the top of the Envelope Punch Board and "round" them if desired. (I did not do this step in this tutorial but my corners are rounded in the other finished example above)

Step 6: Note that you have 2 wider corners (opposite each other) and 2 skinnier corners. Alongside the wide corner, use your scissors to snip the paper up to the first crease you get to. Do this along the other side of that corner and then flip it around so you snip both sides of the other wider corner:

Step 7: Using strong adhesive (Scor-tape or Tear and Tape) place some pieces on the 2 other corners/points as shown:
Fold these back and press down to secure the flaps.

Step 8: Turn paper over. Locate the 4 "corners" (that are alongside where you made your snips in
step 6).  You will want to place 1 glue dot on each of these spots. See where my piercing tool is?:

Step 8: Assemble box by folding one flap (with the glue dot) and securing in place:
And then the second flap overlaps that:
Repeat steps on the other side. Notice how securing it this way, allows movement of the inside portion making it appear as though a bag is sitting inside of a box.

Step 9:  Using the small oval punch, make the handles:

Step 10: Add ribbon or twine at the handles to tie them together.  I used Calypso Coral seam binding ribbon. VOILA!!
(Then you can add a stamped sentiment or other embellishments as you wish.)

We also made this adorable Peek a Boo Bunny card.  I CASED it from Krystals Cards that I actually saw on Pinterest first.  Isn't she (he?) adorable?
Using the Ovals framelits, it was super easy!  Some scraps of retired pink DSP for the ears and nose...to cute!!

And then we made this Birthday card featuring the new Party Pop Up Thinlets dies.  Oh MY!! Are we going to have lots of fun with these!  We did a VERY simple card, as time was short on a club night.  But you could do SO much more with these beauties!!
We used the coordinating "It's My Party" DSP and just look at how this turned out.....

I'll try to post more photos of the projects I'm currently working on that feature these fabulous framelits.  Until then...thanks for stopping by!

Recent Birthday cards

Most of the time, I get busy creating and then forget to photograph my creations.  Below are 2 recent birthday cards that I made.  Both feature the "Build A Birthday" stamp set in the 2015-2016 catalog. The background paper used is from the"Cherry on Top" DSP stack.  I love the colors!! Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Cucumber Crush, and Melon Mambo.
