We used the new "Gift Box Punch Board" to create this 4" box. Super easy, and oh so cute.
Per the instructions on the Gift Box Punch Board, begin with a piece of card stock that is 12" x 12" in order to make a 4" cube box. We used "Under the Tree" Specialty DSP from the Holiday catalog. It is a bit heavier/sturdier than the standard card stock, so it holds up and really lends itself to making these boxes! Although card stock will work nicely too.
As you can see, we used the craft-colored side, but there is a variety (red, green, brown) of colors in the pack.
For the tag, we punched a piece of "Trim the Tree" DSP (this stack is FULL of fabulous designs - I like them all!). We used the "Scalloped Tag Topper". Everyone's tag was from a different paper, and they looked nice against the neutral color of the box. On top of the DSP is a white piece of card stock, with the corners rounded. We used Garden Green ink to stamp images from "Endless Wishes" (Holiday Catalog) and secured it with some white "Baker's Twine".
For the bow, we used tulle ribbon (from a local craft store) - tied the top into 2 bows and then snipped all the loops to make it "poof".
Below is a helpful hint: When you get your piece scored, punched and ready to assemble, follow the guide in these photos as placement for your adhesive. (Fast Fuse, Sticky Strip or Scor-tape is recommended).
Project 2: Star Box.
Watching this Tutorial will be the best bet when ready to try a Star Box.
I learned a lot from the Tutorial, and so will you! You will need the Big Shot and the "Stars" framelits to cut out your stars. And using "Simply Scored" or the Stampin' Trimmer to make your score lines is key. We used "Trim the Tree" DSP stack again, so everyone got to choose their own pattern. To finish the box we added "Baker's Twine" in gold, and also the sentiment cut from "Gold Foil Sheets". This "merry" was part of a retired set of framelits, but choosing the new "Wonderful Wreath Framelits (Holiday Catalog) would give you "joy" and "noel". These star boxes are solid - they do not open. They are great at decor items, ornaments, etc. Watch for a future post that addresses how to make a box that fully opens so you can put something inside.
Project 3:
After all that box-making, we finished up with a simple, but beautiful thank you card. It sort of looks Fall-ish with these color, don't you think?
"Flower Patch" stamp set (has coordinating "Flower Fair Framelits" which we did not use this time) using 2-Step stepping method. Colors used: Tangelo Twist, Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow, Blackberry Bliss and Soft Suede.
Thank you for visiting Paper Desserts!
